Now you can get rail tickets on ICICI Bank's website Mumbai: ICICI BANK on Wednesday tied up with railway's e-ticketing platform IRCTC to sell  rail tickets  through its website. The largest private sector lender will soon introduce the facility to book rail tickets on its mobile banking application and prepaid digital wallet, it said in a statement. Users will have to first register on the website of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), where it primarily sells rail tickets, and then do a one-time registration on the bank's website to avail of the facility. The statement also said the facility is not limited to ICICI customers as any other bank's customer can also use the facility. The payments for the purchases can be made using the online banking facility, debit or credit card of any bank. Indian Railways new child fare rules The revised child fare rule shall be applicable for travel from April 2016 on wards. From April next year, children of the age group of 5 to 12 years of age will be charged full fare instead of half as the Railways has revised the child fare rule. -Under the revised provision, full adult fare will be charged for children of age 5 years and under 12 years of age if for whom berth/seat (in reserved class) is sought at the time of reservation. -However, there shall be no change in the rule for child fare of unreserved tickets which means fare for children of 5-12 years for unreserved tickets shall continue to be half of the adult fare. -However, in case berth/seat is not sought for the children of age 5 years and under 12 years of age at the time of reservation, then half of the adult fare shall continue to be charged. -Railways will carry out necessary changes in the reservation form so that the passenger can indicate th

7 th Pay Commission Seeks One-Month Extension of Deadline to Submit Recommendations The Seventh Pay Commission has urged the Union  finance ministry to extend the deadline by a month  to submit its recommendations. The commission-- headed by Justice A.K.Mathur,if granted an  extension, is expected to submit its report by the  end of September. Appointed by the previous government in February  2014, the commission was given 18 months to submit  its report. The time allotted for the commission  ends this month. "There are some data points that are missing, which  we hope to get by this month end. We are trying to s ubmit the report by 20 September," an official of  the commission told Live mint . com . Automated Ticket Refund   New Delhi:   The Railways has decided to grant automatic refund of tickets on cancellation of trains, similar to waitlisted e-tickets. There shall not be any requirement for cancellation/filing of ticket deposit receipt (TDR) for refund of e-tickets in case of cancellation of trains. The new refund system will come into effect shortly. In case of cancellation of trains, tickets booked at the passenger reservation system (PRS) counters shall continue to be refunded across the reservation counter as per the existing provisions. In a tweet Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said, "New way of refund on cancellation of train eliminates trouble faced by dear passengers. AAP Government may not  favour hike in Delhi Metro f ares 19/02/2015 New Delhi: With AAP coming to power in Delhi, speculation is rife that the new government may not be in favour of a hike in Metro fares. DMRC has been asking for an upward revision in fares citing increasing costs. The Metro fares have not been revised since 2009. Earlier this month, the urban development ministry sent a proposal to the appointments committee of the cabinet to set up a fare fixation panel, which will submit its report within three months of getting approved. The panel consists of three members, including the urban development secretary from the Centre, the finance secretary from the Delhi government and a retired judge. Said a senior government official, “Fare fixation has been pending for a long time now. However, since elections were due in Delhi, no movement had happened on the issue. Preliminary Report on Bangalore-Ernakulam Inter-city Express derailment on 18 March. (final report by August) 20/02/2015 B angalore (SBC): CRS will submit his preliminary findings on the Bangalore-Ernakulam Inter-city Express derailment near Anekal on March 18 and the final report before August 18.  Satish Kumar Mittal, Commissioner of Rail Safety, Southern Circle, concluded his extensive two-day inquiry on various aspects pertaining to the mishap on Wednesday. Mittal remained non-committal on any of the findings and said, “It will figure in the preliminary report only.” A total of 31 individuals, including one member of the public, deposed before the commission. The 30 officials examined belonged to the commercial, operational, civil engineering and mechanical engineering branches of Bengaluru Railway Division. “All the data has to be analysed, witnesses checked and cross-checked and the final report will be submitted within six months,” the commissioner added. Suresh Prabhu to launch first CNG train from Rewari today   Tuesday, January 13, 2015  New Delhi: In what could be considered as a milestone in adoption of green fuel in Indian Railways, the first   CNG train   will be launched on Tuesday on Rewari-Rohtak section of Northern zone. Based on the dual fuel system - diesel and CNG - the train will be flagged off by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu from Rewari, a senior Railway Ministry official. Introduction of CNG trains will reduce greenhouse gas emission by the Railways and also the consumption of diesel. Prabhu has given emphasis on the use of alternative fuel in train operation including use of solar and wind power to reduce dependence on conventional energy. Railways have modified the 1,400 HP engine to run on dual fuel - diesel and CNG - through fumigation technology.    Train rammed into a temple during               shunting at the yard   BHOPAL: Six people were injured after a train rammed into a temple during shunting at the yard attached to Gwalior railway station in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday morning. While eyewitnesses claim Barauni - Gwalior Mail express train hit the temple directly, police claim it first hit a tree which collapsed on temple injuring its priest Ram Nivas Sharma, 50, and other people sitting the premises. Major portion of the temple was destroyed following the incident. "Accident occurred at around 7am while the coaches of the train were being attached at the yard, beyond the platform No 4," said ASI K L Rai of government railway police (GRP), Gwalior.
