RAIL NEWS Two Bogies of Ajmer-Puri Express derail, Train movement hit.    B hubaneswar (BBS): Two bogies of Ajmer-Puri Express got derailed between Boinda and Jarapada stations in Angul-Sambalpur railway section under Sambalpur division today.No one was injured as the coaches of 18422 Ajmer-Puri Express jumped off the tracks, railway sources said.

RAIL NEWS Electric Traction on Virudhunagar-Tirunelveli section to be ready by June     V irudunagar Jn (VPT):  Travelling by train from Chennai to Kanyakumari along the southern trunk route, through Tiruchi and Madurai, is set to be quicker with Southern Railway planning to commission the electrified Virudhunagar-Tirunelveli segment by June.While electrification of the broad gauge line had extended from the Chennai side to Madurai and from the Kanyakumari end to Tirunelveli, the roughly 110-km Virudhunagar-Tirunelveli segment had been the missing link to providing seamless operation of trains with electric traction from Chennai and Kanyakumari.

2,096 bio-toilets installed in rail coaches so far        New Delhi: Continuing its efforts to provide a clean and eco-friendly travel to train passengers, Railways has expedited the work of fitting bio-toilets in coaches with over 2,000 of them already installed so far.

A timing neither passengers nor train’s loco pilots prefer Late-night Kollam MEMU service cancelled after loco pilots seek an assistant The awkward timing of Kollam-Ernakulam MEMU was pulled into the spotlight when the   loco   pilots on Sunday declined to operate the service citing   safety issues . The service, scheduled to start from Kollam junction at 12.10 a.m. and reach Ernakulam junction at 4.25 a.m., had to be cancelled on   Sunday night   after loco pilots declined to operate it alone without the service of an assistant loco pilot, citing safety hazards.

Two railway officials sentenced to 3 years RI in bribery case    New Delhi: A special CBI court in Bhopal has sentenced two Railway officials with three years rigorous imprisonment in connection with a 2009 bribery case.  
Railways take down curtains from third AC coaches New Delhi :   Citing safety reasons, railways have decided to remove curtains put on pathways of all air- conditioned three-tier (3 AC) coaches of trains.
